March 31, 2020 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Drive Through Lunch Pick Up at Nevada Joint Union High School / March 27, 2020 Letter Nevada County Superintendent of Schools / Campus Closures Through May 1, 2020 / Distance Learning to Continue for Families

Drive through meal pick up will be provided on the Nevada Joint Union High School on Tuesday, March 31, 2020.
In concurrence with Nevada County Public Health, the Nevada County Superintendent of Schools Scott W. Lay, school district superintendents and charter school directors are hereby extending campus closures of all public schools in Nevada County through May 1, 2020 in order to slow the spread of COVID-19 to the maximum extent possible. Nevada City School District will continue to provide distance learning to all students. We will continue to keep you posted with up to date information as we receive it. Thank you....

Nevada County Superintendent of Schools announces the postponement of the STEAM Expo 2020, until next year, 2021.

This decision was made based on several factors:  A reduction in the number of student submissions to the STEAM Expo  Exhibitors pulling out from participation in the STEAM Expo  The potential impact that COVID-19 (Coronavirus) may have on the community  Information from the Nevada County Public Health Department, as well as the California Department of Health and the California Department of Education regarding holding major events where large crowds gather

  • $1200 for Goats, Heifer, Llama, Rabbits, Water Buffalo and Bees
  • 584 Seedlings Distributed to Families to Help Replant Forests
  • $1,195 Raised by students for St. Jude Math-a-thon
  • 80 Rebuilt Bikes Raffled to Loaves and Fishes. Additional 45 bikes were repaired
